Shallow Velocity Estimation by Multiples for Monochannel Boomer Surveys
نویسندگان
چکیده
The shallow P velocity provides relevant information for offshore engineers, in planning pipelines, piers, and platforms. Standard multichannel surveys trailing long cables provide good estimates but may require stopping other ongoing operations or affect the environment. Monochannel by Boomer systems involve a very short cable, so those drawbacks are minimized; however, this comes at cost of loss estimating layers. In paper, we present new method exploiting multiple reflections characterizing seafloor. After validation algorithm synthetic example, tested approach marine survey acquired system Gulf Trieste (Italy).

Accuracy of velocity estimation by Reichardt correlators.
Although a great deal of experimental evidence supports the notion of a Reichardt correlator as a mechanism for biological motion detection, the correlator does not signal true image velocity. This study examines the accuracy with which realistic Reichardt correlators can provide velocity estimates in an organism's natural visual environment. The predictable statistics of natural images imply a...

background: pulse wave velocity (pwv) is widely used for estimating the stiffness of an artery. v arious invasive and non-invasive methods have been developed to determine pwv over the years. in the present research , the non-invasive estimation of the pwv of large arteries was used as an index for arterial stiffness. methods: a dynamic model based on the navier-stokes equations coupled to elas...
متن کاملSurface-to-subsurface velocity projection for shallow water currents
Sea surface currents in coastal oceans are accessible to continuous direct observations by shore-based high-frequency Doppler radar systems. Inferring current structure in shallow water from such surface current observations is attempted. The approach assumes frictionally dominated flow and vertically varying current velocity on the scale of the Ekman boundary layer. The approximation of the ve...
